About Us

Mada Couture is a fashion brand rooted in aesthetics that was created in 2020 by Anisaa Yalaih. Anisaa is a 24 year old black muslimah and entrepreneur from West Philadelphia. She grew up under the influence of her fashion designer and entrepreneurial mother of 7, Saadiya. From a young age Anisaa begin observing her mother's and others work closely. As a young girl her and her younger sister assisted her mother with her fashion brand, Yalaih Anisaa, meaning “Beautiful Women”. They helped fold fabric, pick out notions and fabric, etc. They also helped during events, pop up shops and even walked in fashion shows. Anisaa inevitably developed a passion which resulted in her eventually pursuing her own aspirations in the industry.

After studying and attending Murrell Dobbins Technical School for fashion, she embarked on her own journey as a seamstress in 2017. She previously operated under the name “Aniko”, which was a streetwear brand inspired by urban, islamic and japanese art and culture. During this time she even participated in a few fashion shows where she showcased her handmade designs and accessories. Despite facing challenges along the way, Anisaa remained resilient, refining her craft and ultimately becoming the founder and operator of Mada Couture. She handcrafts each item, drawing inspiration from her studies, observation of global trends, and the cultivation of her own unique aesthetic.

Her vision for Mada Couture extends to becoming a well-known name among modest fashion enthusiasts worldwide. In a world that influences women to undress she hopes to provide a variety of beautiful luxury wear and inspire all girls to embrace their modest journey. She intends to incorporate her sister brand *It Gurl Supremacy* which is an organization that aims to create a vibrant community for modern Muslim women in urban communities. We hope to inspire all women to be dedicated to living life while also following the Sunnah. By addressing key topics that resonate with our experiences, aspirations, and challenges, we can collectively learn to conquer this dunya (world). In a society that undoubtedly pressures women to wear less, talk less, and settle for less, give more and show more, my mission is to inspire women to love themselves, protect themselves, value their gifts, and aspire for more! ᡣ𐭩
